Microbiology

The presence or absence of bacteria is a very important indication of whether or not a water sample is suitable for human consumption. Coliform bacteria live within the gut of mammals (including humans) and are used as indicator organisms to determine the extent of microbial contamination in water supplies. We offer several tests which examine the microbial quality of water samples. These are listed in our Analytical Services Fee Schedule which can be acquired using the Download Forms link on this page. Samples must be collected in specially prepared sterile bottles which we supply. Analytical results are generally available within 24 hours. Please contact us for details.
